Collaborated to formulate and articulate the recommendations for The Kenya Medical School committee that established The Nairobi Medical School and Faculty of Medicine at The University of Nairobi

Senate Representative for The Medical School Development Committee at the University of Nairobi and representative of the University of Nairobi at World Health Organisation forums and symposiums.

Member of the Governing Council of the University of Nairobi and the Council’s Finance and General Purpose Committee

Chairman, Dept. of Medicine – University of Nairobi (1975 – 1978)

Responsible for the decentralization of the Department of Medicine into sections and divisions as well as the development of community-oriented medical education programmes

Responsible for continuing education programmes including the formulation and development of The Master of Medicine (M.Med) Degree Programme in Internal Medicine

First Chairperson of an Integrated Division of Medicine that initiated and implemented heart programmes in Kenya
